Holidays at Saline Reef Villa are designed to ensure all guests have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful villa and island of Saint Lucia. You worked hard to get here; you deserve to take it easy and let the hospitality professionals take care of the details.
PROFESSIONAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND CONCIERGE
Property Management is provided by the on-island rental agency, Blue Sky Luxury (BSL). Sharon Leonce-Valmont is the BSL concierge assigned to Saline Reef Villa and is available for any need. BSL coordinates and oversees every aspect of the rental experience. Your concierge can arrange a wide array of local tours, activities and services. For example, the BSL concierge can assist with transportation needs, reservations, tours, activities and more. Special arrangements that require outside staffing can be made at your request - for example, a professional chef, a cocktail waiter for the evening, or live musical entertainment. The concierge service is included with your rental. You simply pay for the desired activities and special arrangements.
AMENITIES
Similar to a fine hotel, each bedroom suite is provided with luxury linens, cloths, towels, mats, bathrobes and a hair dryer. Each suite is freshened up daily. A variety of locally-sourced lotions, soaps and bathing products are provided. Pool towels are provided and refreshed daily. Portable beach chairs, beach towels and a small cooler are available for guest use. The entire property is regularly treated for mosquitos and other pests. Unlike at a hotel, you won't be competing for a pool lounger or table space and every guest there will be part of your own party.
SECURE AND PRIVATE LOCATION NEAR NUMEROUS ATTRACTIONS
Saline Reef Villa is set on the northwest coast in the prestigious Saline Point area of Cap Estate. Its views are unspoiled and privacy is complete: none of the very few nearby villas have sightlines into the property. The local Rodney Bay area on the west coast is the entertainment, activity and shopping hub of Saint Lucia and is ~10 minutes away. It has so much to offer: upscale and casual restaurants; bars and clubs; shopping; spas; golf courses - including the new Cabot Saint Lucia; a world-class marina; professional cricket; and of course, beaches and parks like Pidgeon Point. The rugged east coast is just a few minutes away by car in this narrow part of the island, so the choices are many. Taxis are plentiful and rental cars can be delivered to the villa. The property is fully fenced and gated; you will be provided a key fob to open and close the gates when you choose to go out. The villa is also equipped with a monitored electronic security system.
PROFESSIONAL STAFFING
Angel is the lead housekeeper and day-to-day service coordinator – she is on duty 6 days a week and will cook and serve any two meals per day for you: breakfast, lunch if you're staying in, or she'll prepare an early dinner for you ready to heat and eat when you choose. Meal prep, using food you purchase, and housekeeping is included with your villa rental. See Meal Services, below, for additional details. If you require additional meals or services, simply inquire. Consult with Angel or the BSL concierge.
Angel will make any snacks, drinks etc. She will prepare a batch of her famous house-made rum punch – to die for! Angel has been with Saline Reef Villa for over 20 years, and her mother was the main housekeeper before her, so she knows everything there is to know about the villa and how to get whatever else you need. Juliana assists Angel part-time with housekeeping, cooking and more. She also fills in on Angel's day off (normally, Saturday).
Alfie is the systems and outdoor areas specialist and lead caretaker. He will see that your luggage is taken to your suite and help you get acquainted with the house amenities. He prepares outdoor guest areas for your enjoyment daily. He will ensure your lounger towels and cushions are ready for you and generally keep everything outside spic and span. He oversees routine garden/lawn maintenance, periodic professional pool servicing and general maintenance. If anything needs to be adjusted or repaired, just let Alfie know; he will do anything you ask to make your stay more pleasurable. If he can’t get the issue sorted, he will arrange service from one of our many on-call contractors. Alfie has also been with Saline Reef Villa for over 20 years and knows where everything is and how everything works.
Oliver is the lead gardener and will make sure the hardscape surfaces, garden plants, lawn and and potted plants are kept looking their best during your visit. He maintains the wonderful array of flowers and plants known to attract St Lucia's amazing variety of birds (especially the many hummingbirds that live in the garden). His main language is the local patois but he speaks a little English and understands French. If you need something specific from him, ask Alfie or Angel to translate.
Saline Reef Villa has separate areas, apart from the main structure (rental spaces), dedicated to the staff and their work. They do not need to utilize the main house areas other than to provide their services. Please note that the housekeepers should be given access to every room during their working hours, enabling them to maintain our high standard of cleanliness. The staff are there for your benefit and anything you want, just ask. They are very pleasant, hard working and will always do their very best for you. They are very proud of what Saline Reef Villa has to offer. Please note that our housekeepers are not trained nannies and should not be expected to look after and/or babysit infants or children. If you do make any baby-sitting arrangements directly with the housekeepers, please be advised that this will be at your own risk.
MEAL SERVICES
To best serve you, the BSL concierge will reach out before your visit to ensure your villa is stocked as you wish when you arrive. No need to rush to a store upon arrival! The concierge team can arrange for groceries, beverages and other supplies to be delivered to your holiday home in time for your arrival and during your stay. Angel or Sharon can assist with any additional needs for supplies after you have settled in. There are farmers markets in the area and locally-sourced fruits and vegetables can be delivered directly to the villa for a nominal fee.
While the Rodney Bay area offers a wide variety of both simple and upscale restaurants, you can also choose to have up to two meals prepared for you at the villa each day - coordinate with Angel or Juliana. When requested, breakfast and/or lunch will be prepared on-site daily to your specifications utilizing ingredients you choose to purchase. A variety of options are available for your evening meal, including home-made in advance for later heat-and-serve. The housekeepers can prepare local meals, simple menus, cold cuts, salads, etc. However, they are not professional chefs. If you require professional chef services, please liaise with your concierge who can arrange this for you.
There is also a small do-it-yourself charcoal grill next to the shady cliffside table. Alfie will assist you with the charcoal and grilling equipment. At home meals can be set up for you at any of the many tables, indoors or outdoors. Just tell Angel or Juliana and it will all be done for you. Relax - you have better things to do than fuss around in the kitchen!
There is no mandatory service charge at Saline Reef Villa. However, if you wish to express your appreciation of the villa staff’s services, we suggest a gratuity of $50 (USD) per guest per week for the housekeeper and $50 (USD) for the caretaker. For example, a party of four guests might consider a total gratuity of $400 (+/-) per week. Please consult with your Concierge if you need assistance with calculating or distributing gratuities. For your convenience and discretion, gratuities can be charged to your credit card on file.
STAFF HOURS
Housekeeper: 7 days per week, approximately 9AM to 3PM unless by direct arrangement with staff. Caretaker and Gardener: Monday - Friday approximately 9AM to 3PM.
